Book Description:

Harold! There goes that spider! See, he is running on the floor! That spider has to go. He cannot live here anymore!!! Oh, no! Beth looks very, very angry. What has A.R. Achnid done now? Well, before A.R. got into big trouble with Beth, he had a lot of wonderful adventures.

There are ten different adventures in this book. There is the time he went to the circus and rode on a balloon, and then had some shoo fly pie. Another day, A.R. and Rex (a Great Dane, who is A.R.’s best friend) decided to walk all the way into town, and they had such a wonderful time. Then, A.R. and his family went to New York City for the biggest craft fair ever (which was for spiders only), plus many, many other adventures.

Unfortunately, in the tenth story, A.R.’s current living situation is going to need an adjustment. Something changes in the lives of Harold and Beth (the humans) that will make things very difficult for A.R. Come along with A.R. for some fun, and find out what small bundle will cause problems for A.R. and his family.

As A.R. says, “Spiders rule!”

In your book, you state that “…seeing you and your wonderful smile”.  Why is that?  When I first started writing my A.R. books, there was just the one story. Once more and more stories came along, I wanted some continuity and connection between all of my stories, something that was familiar for the reader to relate to, and feel comfortable. Also, I wanted the reader to feel special after reading each story.  So after giving it a lot of thought, I decided to end each chapter the same, and that is how I came up with a similar ending for each story - …seeing you and your wonderful smile.

If you could put yourself as a character in your book, who would you be?  Oh, I would definitely be Beth, one of the humans A.R. lives with. She does not like spiders, at all, and seems to have an encounter with A.R. every once in a while.  She is never happy when she sees A.R., and wants to get as far away from him as possible.

Do you have another profession besides writing?   Yes, I do.  I am a grandmother, and I am loving it.  I try to see the grandchildren as often as I can. We sometimes take our granddaughter to her dance classes, and we go to watch our grandson’s games.  Grandchildren are so much fun, and are growing up so fast.

How long have you been writing?   About ten years.  At first, I was writing nonstop.  The words were coming so fast, every day and night, and I did not get a lot of sleep. I always walked around with a pencil and paper, because sometimes I would be in a store shopping, and words would suddenly start to enter my mind.  If you don’t write those words down when they come, you lose them.  I had lost some really great lines in the beginning, so I learned to always carry paper and pencil with me.

What is your next project?  I have a novel that has been sitting in my computer for about three years.  I am hoping that I can get words to finish that story.  I am also hoping to write a second book of adventures for my A.R. stories. He will move in with a new family, and a whole new set of adventures.

What genre do you write and why?   I started writing just children’s stories. That is all that was coming to me for words. Then I wrote two novels.  There is no specific genre for my books. Basically, whatever I get for words, I make a story out of those words.
